František NOVÝ works as a professor at the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Žilina (UNIZA) in the field of Engineering Technologies and Materials and also as a senior researcher at the Research Centre of UNIZA. He works at the Department of Materials Engineering since 1996; obtained PhD degree in 2002. His main specialization is the experimental determination of fatigue characteristics of materials, threshold state of materials and the relationship between the microstructure of materials and mechanical properties. He has many years of experience with internal residual stresses, fatigue, contact fatigue, brittle fracture, hydrogen embrittlement, creep fracture, fretting, corrosion cracking and corrosion. He has been the supervisor of 5 bachelor's theses, 17 diploma theses and 5 doctoral theses. As part of his research activities, he cooperates intensively with foreign research institutions, universities and commercial companies in Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic. During long-term stays abroad between 2020 and 2022 he worked also as an associate professor at the Technical university in Liberec and Charles university in Prague (Czech Republic). He has participated in short-term foreign internships (Technische Universität Clausthal (Germany), Politechnico di Milano, Università Degli Studi di Parma (Italy), Politechnika Świętokrzyska Kielce, Politechnika Częstochowa, Politechnika Śląska Gliwice (Poland). He is the author or co-author of more than 300 scientific publications in scientific journals and proceedings of scientific conferences.

Florin-Sandu BLAGA is a professor at the University of Oradea, Faculty of Managerial and Technological Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering. Professor Blaga is the PhD supervisor in the field of Industrial Engineering and the director of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Oradea. His researches refer to the use of fuzzy sets for the development of multicriteria decision-making systems, systems dedicated to the determination of technological parameters for various manufacturing processes and for determining processing priorities. Another concern of professor Blaga is the modeling and simulation of systems (Petri nets, queue networks, Matlab- Simulink). He has obtained outstanding results in other fields such as: manufacturing scheduling in flexible manufacturing systems, project management - critical path methods, part family technology (group technology). Professor Blaga is the author of over 200 articles, of which 55 are indexed in WOS and 65 in international databases. He is part of the scientific committees of prestigious specialized journals and international conferences.
